IntraOral Camera Systems.

New technology allows
us to use a small color camera on the end of a dental instrument
to show you on a monitor what the inside of your mouth looks like.
This little camera
broadcasts its image to the monitor/computer utilizing wireless
technology.
We can freeze the
picture, print it to paper, even video tape it as a movie. Often,
patients are unaware of the conditions that exist in their mouth
so this becomes an excellent tool to help educate your patients.
The picture below shows several broken fillings,
including a white filling in the center, where the corner of the
tooth broke off.

Here is a few intraoral cameras manufacturers:
RF systems- completely wireless, handheld unit. Unique
design. About the size and feel of a Sonicare. Two models- Model
DP-6 and Model DP-15 .The latter has several more features, including
capture switch on the unit and onboard memory, so immedaiate downlaods
are not essential. There is an optional USB interface ( no video
capture card necessary) . Company is in Nagano Japan and deals
direct. No bulbs- it uses new white LEDs. No focusing necessary-
one setting for all pictures. Quality is not as sharp as some,
but acceptable. Easiest to use. They need a little help with customer
orders and support ( 11/1/00) but a new web site looks promising.
There should be a US office soon.

on a floppy disk.
